About the Department
Mineral Volunteer Fire Department was chartered in June 1935, the second volunteer fire company in Louisa County. Originally an all-volunteer operation, today the fire station is staffed 24/7 with career firefighters and emergency service personnel who respond to fire and rescue calls from the facility, supplemented by volunteers who work alongside the career staff. The station answers almost 1000 calls for assistance annually and is one of four stations staffed by career personnel. Additional fire departments and rescue squads are still volunteer operated and supplement the departments.
We offer our volunteers different ways to be heroes in the community. The different types of membership are fire, EMS, auxiliary, support, fire police, and juniors.
We Are Seeking Heros
We are searching for citizens of Louisa County and surrounding areas who are eager to serve our community. Whether you are just exploring the idea of joining the fire service, or are a seasoned veteran, we look forward to your inquiry.
