About the Department
The Louisa Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1924. The Department is a non-profit organization providing the Town of Louisa and the County of Louisa with needed volunteer firefighting personnel, assets and resources. Company One is a combination department working alongside career firefighters and ems personnel provided by Louisa County Department of Emergency Services. Together we provide firefighting and emergency support services. We operate out of one station that is located in the center of a mixed urban/suburban/rural area. Whether it is fighting fires, providing emergency services, or simply helping the community when a disaster strikes, Company One is ready.
We offer our volunteers different ways to be heroes in the community. The different types of membership are fire, EMS, auxiliary, support, and juniors.
